...I enjoy listening to these recordings, and will likely make one with family, friends, fiancé - those important to me and my life - best of all - listen to their story.

In Memorium: Gullah "Gi Gi"

Gullah, GiGi "Gunner" 12/1/2009-3/1/2015

Losses take my breath away, some more than others. I have had numerous losses in life. Caring for animals brings losses - their lifespan is so much shorter, 1/4 of human lifespan.
When I lose a dog, it is like losing a close friend. I spend alot of time, give them creature comforts - TLC.   I rely on them for protection, activity, enthusiasm, friendliness, and love.

We lost Gullah in the night...He was healthy - glowing!  He was running, eating and drinking like normal.  He had spent the last 2 months mostly indoors due to harsh weather conditions of this winter.

Bloated stomach, which I am deducing he had died from, is acutely fatal. It kills at least 40% of Bloodhounds.

I know he loved the farm as I do, with all its' stimulating effects on the senses that the surrounding nature provides.

Bloodhounds are difficult keep, simply due to their slobber, sheer size, and strength.  They are best as working dogs with lots of talent, best kept in a one dog household, in my opinion.  I enjoyed having Gullah every step of the way, too short, but sweet!
